Avant toutes choses, permettez-moi au nom Belgian Triumph Club de vous présenter nos meilleurs vœux en ce début d’année 2011.

Nous sommes heureux de convier les membres de votre club à participer Le 5 juin 2011 à un grand rassemblement de voitures britanniques de collections et d’exception que nous organisons à Namur.

Un vaste emplacement situé seulement à quelques encablures du centre ville et du Parlement Wallon, là où la Sambre se jette dans la Meuse et que les Namurois connaissent sous le nom de "Grognon" - Mais rassurez-vous, cet endroit n'a que son nom qui est grognon - accueillera vos belles anglaises.Il n'est pas obligatoire de s'inscrire, mais nous souhaitons que ceux qui comptent participer à cette journée nous le signale par un petit clic sur l’onglet de la page « British Day » de notre site (www.triumph-belgium.be). Cela nous permettra d'évaluer plus précisément  le nombre d'emplacements nécessaires. Autant que possible nous souhaitons également connaître les marques, types et années des véhicules qui seront présents.Après s’êtres acquittés de la modeste somme de 5 euros par voiture, tous les participants qui se seront inscrits sur notre site avant le 22 mai 2011 et qui seront présents ce jour-là recevront une plaque rallye et un petit cadeau souvenir de la journée.Il en sera de même pour les 100 premiers non inscrits arrivés sur le site.Tous les participants recevront 2 road book.Le premier, long d'une petite centaine de kilomètres, leur offrira la possibilité d'aller à leur guise à la découverte de la Citadelle, de la région namuroise et des magnifiques villages qui l'entourent.Le deuxième road book leur donnera l'occasion de découvrir à pied quelques beaux endroits de la vieille ville. Une liste des musées et autres lieux à découvrir ainsi qu'une liste des restaurants ouverts y sera jointe.

Bijgaand een paar foto’s van de uitreiking van de Nederlandse Morgan Challenge Trophe aan Hedwig Rodyns. Het bestuur van de Morgan Sports Car Club Holland, bij monde van de voorzitter Harry Out, roemde de heer Rodyns over al zijn rallyavonturen van het afgelopen jaren en vooral ook over de humoristische en positief kritische rallyverslagen van Hedwig, zoals die zijn verschenen in het clubblad van de Nederlandse Morganclub de Fatamorgana. Tijdens de Algemene Ledenvergadering van de MSCCH in november 2010 waar een honderdtal leden aanwezig was, werd deze wisseltrofee met de bijhorende blijvende herinnering uitgereikt aan Hedwig Rodyns.

Anniversary Celebration Announcement from:

                            The Morgan Sports Car Club Holland (MSSCH)

Primary Celebration: 40 Years Morgan Sports Car Club Holland

Secondary Celebration: 50 Years since Morgan victory in the 1962 Le Mans 24 hours race

Both anniversaries coincide in 2012 which made this double theme an obvious choice, and to celebrate the occasion we are inviting members of Morgan clubs from all over the world to join us in the Netherlands for this special event.

Venue:

The GHQ and epicentre of the celebrations will be situated at the famous TT-circuit at Assen, in North Holland, in an area which includes the picturesque provinces of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe. All events will be taking place from this circuit area which is very conveniently situated near to various hotels, B&B’s, and camping sites. The largest hotel with 185 rooms (Hotel Assen) is only a 5-minute’s drive away.

Programme:

-          A MOG event with plenty of fun for everyone including the usual things like gymkana; concours d’élégance; a rally and one or two scenic runs; a big party and other surprise attractions.

-          Morgan races plus other historic racing groups will be racing on the circuit under the professional supervision of the HARC. The MSCCH has also invited the greased- lightning Three Wheeler Brigade and if that were not enough, the Morgan Four-Cylinder racing cars including the famous TOK258, 170GWP, XRX1, XOV555, as well as 4 SLR’s. Ther will also be an Aero Challenge.

6th, 7th and 8th July 2012 (first weekend of July in 2012) This is the weekend before the Le Mans Classic which gives everyone an opportunity to travel as a group from Assen to Le Mans and add this fantastic event to their weekend.

This additional post-Assen week will include a visit to the brand new and already world-famous Louwman Car Museum in the Hague; a boat tour of the busiest harbour in the world: Rotterdam; and a visit to the Zolder Circuit (with an historic Belgian city as a nearby alternative for those suffering from circuit O/D) This will continue as a Morgan Promotional Tour covering Holland, Belgium and France with an ‘educational’stop at a vineyard or two somewhere along the way.

We will arrive at Le Mans on Thursday 13th July with festivities centred around the Morgan win 50 years ago.

Assen:

Thursday 5th July:

Early guests can sign in till 21.00 hours

Friday 6th July:

Reception for all guests starting at 9.00 hours. Start of several scenic runs, each with a different theme. Opportunities to visit places of interest.

Racing drivers arrive at the circuit. Practice on Friday afternoon.

Evening activities: Reception for guests of honour, sponsors and their guests. Invitations have gone out to the Mayor of Assen as well as the Commissioner for the Queen for the Province of Drenthe.  A special welcome will be given to officers of  other Morgan Clubs as well as the officers of the HARC (Historic Racing Association), but most importantly, the reception is for you.

Saturday 7th July:

Concours d’élégance, rally, scenic runs, historic races and three Morgan races.

Saturday evening: Party time, and in keeping with the themes for this event, we have a dress code in the style of 1962 – 1972 (not mandatory but strongly recommended0. The party area and music will be reminiscent  of this era.

Sunday 8th July:

Gymkana and scenic runs.

At the track: 3 Morgan races as well as historic races.

Conclusion of the festivities, a high tea and the chance to persuade new-found friends to join you on your trip to Le Mans the following day.

Tuesday 10th July: Start of the Morgan Promotion Tour to the Le Mans Classic 

Beste Oldtimerliefhebber en/of Clubgenoot,

Met zeer veel genoegen kunnen wij U de affiche presenteren voor de 11 uitgave van ons Interclubtreffen op zondag 29 augustus aanstaande
Na tien zeer succesvolle uitgaven van dit evenement was het meer dan hoog tijd om een nieuwe en grotere locatie op te zoeken waar het Interclubtreffen verder zal kunnen doorgroeien als jaarlijkse niet – te – missen – klassieker in het Oldtimergebeuren.
Met veel spijt in het hart moesten wij daarvoor onze vertrouwde en prachtige locatie in Lommel aan het kanaal bij Taverne de Lossing prijsgeven, alsook het geliefde clublokaal waar VVK – afdeling Lommel het levenslicht zag en uitgroeide tot een der meest actieve divisies van de Vlaamse Vehikel Klub: de prijs van het succes was hoog maar onvermijdelijk..

Wat behouden bleef, en dat willen we voor de toekomst ook veilig blijven stellen, is alleszins de vaste datum van het gebeuren: de laatste zondag van augustus.
Maar ook wat ons het dierbaarst is: vooral het concept waarop het Interclubtreffen open bloeide tot een succesvolle oldtimermeeting: voor iedereen gratis toegang, gezelligheid troef, trekpleister zijn voor het lokale en regionale publiek en last but not least: zo democratisch mogelijk in al zijn aspecten. Kortom: een maximaal aanbod tegen een minimale prijs: het logo van de VVK staat daar borg voor.

Onze nieuwe locatie biedt ons niet minder dan 5 hectaren open grasveld in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van ons clublokaal, Taverne “’t Exelshof” in de Nieuwstraat achter de Ekselse Stermolen. Eenvoudig bereikbaar vanaf de E314 afrit 29 via de N715, en vanaf Hechtel de N747 (Hechtelsebaan) of de Noord-Zuid verbinding N74. Door het geweldige ruimtelijk aanbod kunnen wij nu ook een oproep doen aan de grotere jongens: oldtimer tractoren, autobussen, brandweerwagens, vrachtwagens …

Met de ondersteuning van de uitbaters van ons clublokaal, de logistieke bijstand van de gemeente Hechtel – Eksel, enkele belangrijke actoren waaronder de Christelijke Mutualiteiten, Het Belang van Limburg en talrijke welwillende sponsors en adverteerders, zullen wij op 29 augustus weer opnieuw het beste van onszelf geven om de doorstart van ons Interclubtreffen te doen slagen.
Met uw aanwezigheid op 29.08 zal dit ongetwijfeld ook weer een voltreffer worden. Zeker als U de bijgevoegde poster samen met dit schrijven verder wil verdelen aan al uw correspondenten in de oldtimerwereld..

Morgan EvaGT

At a time of global conservation with a drive towards improved fuel economy the Morgan Motor Company introduces a new concept for a sporting family, the Morgan EvaGT. The four seater Coupe takes its inspiration from the British sports saloons of the early 1950’s. Among these were the Bristol 400 series and the Frazer Nash BMW 328. After the Second World War rationing forced designers to conserve and make the most of the materials at their disposal. However the pressure cooker of war had also led to an abundance of innovative engineering ideas. Steel was scarce so lightweight aluminium was used for bodywork. Smooth “in-line” straight six cylinder engines were fitted to give long distance comfort and reliability. Because the engineers had often worked on aircraft development during the war aerodynamics contributed to high but economical cruising speeds.

The Morgan Motor Company is the last survivor of these British sports car manufacturers. Of course the company is lucky enough to have 100 years of continuous success behind it and like Bristol and Frazer Nash; Morgan has a history of successful collaborations with German suppliers BMW, Siemens and Bosch. But Morgan also works with a number of young engineering companies in the United Kingdom and with world class British university research departments.

The new challenge is to make cars that are more efficient than any we have seen so far. The Morgan Motor Company is in a good position to respond to this challenge because the company is small and flexible with a proven track record of fast development cycles. It currently manufactures one of the greenest sports cars in the world, the Morgan Four Four Sport. Morgan achieves this result with the use of the new Ford 1.6 Sigma engine coupled with a light chassis. Morgan currently has a young well qualified technical team working towards a potential 5 engineering PHD’s, who will make full use of research departments at the University of Oxford, Cranfield and Birmingham City to tap into a technical knowledge network to make more efficient cars. This team is helping to develop a high torque electric motor twice as powerful as others of the same weight and size and a powerful lithium phosphate battery with a higher charge density to achieve the most efficient performance for weight so far.

The dynamic team at Morgan has made a commitment from 2010 that they will bring out a new model every two years. The legendary sports car manufacturer will target new niches…..electric sports cars, a fun weekend vehicle and the first of the new cars will be the Morgan EvaGT, a four seater Coupe aimed at young families, with a bit of drama or automotive theatre as we like to call it. This is a revolution for a car company famous for making the same car for 50 years!

Chassis:The Morgan EvaGT makes full use of clever technologies that the Morgan Motor Company has developed to manufacture a lightweight car. Morgan was one of the first car companies to see the advantage of a bonded aluminium chassis to give rigidity but also to save weight. The EvaGT uses a further developed version of the bonded aluminium chassis of the Morgan Aero SuperSports, a chassis that successfully competes in International GT3 Sports Car Racing. Compliant with European and US safety approvals.

Bodywork:Morgan was the first car company in 1995 to see the benefit of superformed aluminium, an aircraft technology, to manufacture smooth accurate body parts. Morgan Design have sculpted a new shape for the Morgan EvaGT that focuses on natural materials and understands their unique technical properties. Using computer technology in design and in manufacture to ensure accuracy, the parts are then hand finished to make sure they feel as good as they look. A perfect “A” class surface, minimal shut lines, hidden wipers, flush door handles and sharp creases deflect air over the surface of the car. Launch

The first public view of the Morgan EvaGT will be at the 60th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Carmel, California, USA on the 15th August 2010.

The Morgan Motor Company will be taking orders worldwide with a request for a deposit of £5000 from prospective clients for an allocated build slot. The first 100 cars of a limited run are planned to begin production mid 2012 and the “on-road” price will be competitive for a car of this class.

Ter gelegenheid van ons 25-jarig bestaan organiseren wij ( de Antwerpse Renault Oldtimer Club, AROC ) een toeristische rondrit, "den AROCaan". KEMPENTOCHT

Op 13 juni 2010 hebben we onze eerste Kempentocht.
We komen samen vanaf 10:00 uur op de markt in Geel, waar er een gereserveerde parkeerplaats is voorzien voor onze Morgans.
Dit tegenover “Brasserie – Taverne FLORE” Markt 52, waar een tas koffie (of iets anders) zal klaar staan.
Rond 11:00 uur vertrekken we, bolletje-pijltje, over voornamelijk strakke, gladde asfaltwegen.
Maar je mag ondertussen ook genieten van het Kempense landschap.
's Middags is er een barbecue voorzien aan de “Molen van 't Veld”. Hieraan is een Bakkerijmuseum verbonden dat kan bezocht worden met of zonder gids. (Prijs inbegrepen)

Na de middag trekken we langs wat kleinere wegen de Kempen in.
Langs het natuurreservaat De Zegge, Snepkesvijver, Het Zwarte Water, Koningsbos...(Vergeet dus uw fototoestel niet)
Om uiteindelijk te belanden bij Taverne “Het Aards Hof” waar we nog wat, in het lang of in het kort, breed of smal, kunnen na te genieten.

Na een winter die veel te lang duurde beginnen eindelijk de temperaturen weer te klimmen.
Op zondag 18 april organiseren we andermaal de 4de Bloesemtocht door Haspengouw.

Dit jaar komen we samen om 10.30 op de parking van restaurant “De Pauze”, Maastrichtersteenweg 470 te Tongeren (gelegen t.o.v. de afrit 32 van de E313).De tocht zal om en bij de 130 km bedragen over landelijke wegen door de boomgaarden en langs de meeste Haspengouwse kastelen. Het eindpunt is voorzien in de buurt van de E313 oprit 31.

Het route plan is bolleke-pijl (in bijlage eveneens de TomTom versie voor de “solo rijders”).
Voor de lunch in het Jachthuis van het Kasteel van Rullingen vragen we een tussenkomst van 30 euro per persoon (te storten op 784-5066007-14 van Luc Liebens, uiterlijk op 10/04).
Dit is voor de koffie bij vertrek en de volgende lunch:
- voorgerecht: Haspengouwse salade + glas wijn
- hoofdgerecht: Varkenshaasje + glas wijn- nagerecht: Dessert van de chef

De Vlaamse Vehikel Klub - Afdeling Lommel - heeft inmiddels 10 succesvolle edities van haar jaarlijks Interclubtreffen op haar actief.
Deze oldtimermeeting heeft elk jaar plaats op de laatste zondag van de maand augustus.

Op 29.08.2010 verwachten wij opnieuw alle oldtimerclubs en –geïnteresseerden, liefst mét oldtimer, voor een gezellige en sfeervolle verbroederingsdag. Met genoegen zullen wij ook uw club verwelkomen.

In tegenstelling echter met de voorbije jaren zal het evenement niet meer doorgaan aan het kanaal in Lommel bij Taverne De Lossing, maar waren wij door plaatsgebrek genoodzaakt om een ruimere locatie op te zoeken.

Het Interclubtreffen zal voortaan doorgaan bij Taverne ’t Exelshof, Nieuwstraat 35 in 3941 Eksel.

Deze mededeling is voornamelijk bedoeld om het U mogelijk te maken, voor het volgende jaar deze datum op te nemen in het activiteitenprogramma van uw club.

Wij hopen van harte dat U ons per omgaande de interesse en deelname van uw club wil bevestigen, en zullen daarop niet nalaten U op de hoogte te brengen betreffende programma en bijzonderheden wanneer de organisatie vorm krijgt.

Uitzonderlijke Old Timer Sightseeing Toer.

De opening van het toeristisch seizoen Voorkempen zal voor de allereerste keer gebeuren met een Old Timer Evenement dat de Voor- en Noorderkempen zal doorkruisen. Toerisme Voorkempen brengt u via onbekende wegen, kastelen, landerijen, exclusieve straten en wijken, om ’s middags op een unieke locatie te stoppen voor een uitgebreide lunch. ’s Namiddags zult u de route verder zetten om een gans andere kant van de Voor- en Noorderkempen te verkennen en ’s avonds aan te komen in Schilde waar het Gemeentebestuur u zal opwachten.

Schrijf onmiddellijk in, want de deelname is beperkt tot de eerste 100 wagens (min. 30 jaar oud!!)

Praktische informatie en dagindeling:

- zondag 25 april aanmelden tussen 9 u en 9.30 u, Gemeentehuis Schilde, Brasschaatsebaan, 30 2970 Schilde

- ontbijtbuffet, wij verwachten u van 9u tot 9.45u

Hierbij vindt U een uitnodiging voor een Rally van oude auto’s of prestige wagens in Bastenaken op 31 mei ( Pinksteren).
De Rally wordt door de Rotary Club van Bastogne georganiseerd, ten gunste van zijn sociale acties.
Het programma van de Rotary Nuts Rally is zoals hieronder beschreven :- Vanaf 08u00 : aankomst van de oude auto’s in de binnenplaats van de Indsé (een grote middelbare school in Bastenaken), overhandiging van de roadbook en de rallyplaat, ontbijt.- Vanaf 09u00 : rally ( bewegwijzerd en gemeten op de roadbook ) met vragen en spelen, rond de omtrek van het slagveld van de Ardennen ( tweede wereldoorlog Dec44-Feb45) en terugkeer naar Bastenaken.

Middag : Ardense schotel

- In de namiddag : autotochtje door dorpen in het Groot Hertogdom Luxemburg (vlak bij de Belgische grens )

Ontdekking van uitzonderlijke landschappen en terugkeer naar Bastogne.

- Vanaf 17u30 : prijsuitreiking + maaltijd : ham aan het spit + groentegerechtPrijs : 100 EUR voor twee personen + 30 EUR per aanvullende person ( roadbook, rallyplaat, en maaltijden inbegrepen )

Aero SuperSportsAs part of the Centenary celebrations Morgan announces a truly special model.

Designed and engineered in house, the Morgan Aero SuperSports is a lightweight aluminium sports car with a luxurious specification. The interior features a comfortable combination of polished hardwoods, hand stitched leather and electronic technology to create a driving environment that is efficient, ergonomic and sumptuous. In spite of all this opulence the overall weight of the car is still minimal so the car is responsive to driver inputs and economical to run. The unique way Morgan can achieve this is down to our use of aircraft style superformed aluminium outer panels and the skills of our craftsmen to hand finish the assembly of each car.

This technology debuted in the 100 AeroMax coupes built by the factory in 2008 and 2009.

Such was demand for this model, that Morgan have taken the decision to produce the Morgan Aero SuperSports. A limited edition, the car makes use of two aluminium detachable roof panels. These can either turn the car effectively in to a coupe or when detached bring fresh air and the aromas of the seasons to the driving experience without undue wind disturbance to spoil the journey. The panels can be stored conveniently in the boot.

The car of course benefits from the lightweight aluminium Aero chassis which is adhesively bonded for class leading rigidity. Exceeding global crash protection standards, this is also the platform used by the Morgan Aero Eight GT3 currently competing successfully in the 2009 International FIA GT3 Championship. This chassis combined with the aluminium 4.8 litre BMW V8 engine and a choice of 6 speed automatic or manual gearboxes offers an unrivalled driving experience. No other automatic car offers such dynamic power transmission.

Drawn by Matthew Humphries, and engineered for production by the experienced “Morgan Design” team, the new Aero Super Sports is due to enter production in early 2010. A deposit of £25,000 is required to ensure the supply of one of these exciting new models. It is anticipated to cost around £108,000 plas VAT right hand drive and 140 euros plus tax left hand drive.
